Breaking News – we will be having a public auction at some point in the future to sell of our old equipment. Info, including pictures of some of the items going up for sale, here:

I’m sad to say that Lamborn’s custom framing department will be closing on December 22nd. We will take custom orders up till that date to be completed in January. After that December 22nd date we will be closed until January 6th. Lamborn’s Photograhy and photo restoration will stay alive with Fred Tom for a few more years. Same place at 48 E. Stimson. Betsy and I will be there  framing and selling our in-stock merchandise through January and into February. Still framing with what we have on hand. Prices slashed on all the art we have and readymade frames and matteboards. And all the funky stuff (antiques and collectibles).

We so appreciate all our customers that we have been privileged to get to know and love. I’m sorry that we will not be here to help you with your fascinating and unique custom framing projects. We will do our best to guide you to other options.

It’s all my fault! Time for me to retire. But please remember that Fred will be there for your photography needs. Same phone number. Same place.

Thank you all for making my last 35 years of keeping the Lamborn’s custom framing tradition that Jeanne Tom started more than 60 years ago a wonderful local business that served our community. And to Betsy Caul who has been almost as long as I have and has been part of the Lamborn’s family and helped us be the friendly professional business that made us proud.

Fred Tom carrying on the tradition that his dad Darrel Tom began in 1940 when he took over the Lamborn’s name from a business he purchased that began in 1888. We are proud that we have been able to serve our Athens community all these years. He will still be there for you.

Thank you all so much for entrusting us with your memories and precious valuables for so many years.
